MAHA Fall Conference 2008

"Denim & Diamonds"

Fall Conference Preview

We will be returning to Soaring Eagle Conference Center, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to celebrate 60 years of MAHA, Tuesday through Thursday, October 21-23, 2008. A great conference has been planned.  East Central District will help host this event.

Tuesday afternoon will be devoted to vendors: some new, some returning, something for everyone for both fundraising and gift shops.  Take time to see everything that they have to offer.  Then grab your denim and get yourself down to the Western Hoedown featuring a Bar-B-Q Buffet!

Wednesday we will start during breakfast with MHA’s Lori Latham giving us the political update: “Eggs and Issues”.  This will be followed by Attorneys, Amy Tripp and Doug Chalgian, speaking about the investment seminars we are all invited to attend and if we should participate in them.  Next will be three sessions of workshops, including three self-contained one hour Gift Shop presentations by Margie Johnson, focusing on “Customer Service.” The other three workshops will repeat each hour.  A one-hour networking session by MAHA board members will round out the day.  You will have plenty of time to put on your GLITZ for our Diamond Banquet.  This event will dazzle everyone!

Thursday, our closing speaker will be Anne Obarski, explaining various behavior styles and how to best interact with different people.  Her speech is entitled “Bullfrogs have it easy…They eat what bugs them”.  You will definitely have plenty of information to take back home.

The deadline for registration is September 29, 2008.  PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!  Remember to send the Hotel registration to Soaring Eagle and the MAHA Conference Registration to Pam Starkweather.  For those who wish to come early or stay late, the conference hotel rate will be honored one day before and one day after the conference.  We again have ONE DAY registrations available and details are on the back of the registration form.  With the one-day registration you can also choose to attend Wednesday’s Banquet.

Plan now to join us as we celebrate the 60th year of the Michigan Association of Healthcare Advocates.
