Michigan Harvest Gathering 2003

Final Report

The 2003 Michigan Harvest Gathering Celebration Reception was held Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Constitution Hall in Lansing, Michigan from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. The Honorable Bill Schuette and Cynthia Schuette were the hosts for the event.  Pastor David Maier, Our Savior Lutheran Church, gave the invocation.  A silent auction and a live auction was held with proceeds going to benefit the Michigan Harvest Gathering. A beautiful selection of foods from Michigan products was created by the Lansing Community College Culinary School for everyone's enjoyment. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Grand Total for the 2003 Harvest Gathering program. The goal for Michigan Harvest Gathering 2003 was $250,000 and 250,000 pounds of food.  This year, the Michigan Harvest Gathering surpassed that goal, raising $250,186 and 339,417 pounds of food to feed the hungry in Michigan!  The Michigan Health and Hospital Association was given the award for being the primary sponsor for the program.  Congratulations to all hospitals and volunteers who made this event so successful.  We couldn't have done it without you!
